Ketamine therapy may be appropriate for adults with depression, anxiety, or PTSD who have not improved with traditional treatments.

Ketamine is not a first-line treatment for mental health conditions. At Pine Ridge Mental Healthcare, ketamine therapy is considered after a thorough psychiatric evaluation confirms that standard treatments have been ineffective or poorly tolerated.

Who May Be Eligible?

Good candidates often include individuals who:

  • Have treatment-resistant depression

  • Experience persistent anxiety or PTSD symptoms

  • Are able to follow structured treatment protocols

  • Do not have significant uncontrolled medical conditions

When Ketamine May Not Be Recommended

Ketamine therapy may not be appropriate for:

  • Patients over 65 (in-office treatment required)

  • Individuals with significant medical conditions

  • Patients with Medicaid coverage

  • Those requiring FDA-approved esketamine instead

In these cases, Spravato®, the FDA-approved nasal esketamine, may be recommended instead.
