What is the difference between Bipolar 1 and Bipolar 2?
The main difference between Bipolar I and Bipolar II disorders is the severity of the manic episodes. Bipolar I involves at least one full-blown manic episode, which can be severe and may require hospitalization. Bipolar II involves at least one hypomanic episode, which is less severe and does not require hospitalization, along with the fact that it does not have to last as long as someone with Bipolar I Disorder.
